We have a meeting this Wednesday and it will be our only meeting in February. We have a special guest speaker, 2nd grade teacher Berta Barker, coming to talk to the girls about her experience as a Girl Scout in England. This goes perfectly with our World Thinking Day theme as well as the 100th Anniversary of Girl Scouts this spring. The girls will present Berta with a special gift of a World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts pin and "Once a Girl Scout, Always a Girl Scout" magnet.It's also our Valentine's Day meeting, so the girls will be making bookmarks out of paint swatches. Melissa, Jenna has snack. Would you mind doing a Valentine's themed snack? We are really focusing on sustainable and reuseable crafting this year because the theme of the 100th anniversary is Forever Green. Last meeting the girls made cards using the bottom of celery stalks that are usually thrown away. In addition to the craft, they ate the celery! Currently the girls are working towards over 6 patches, badges and pins. We are an ambitious Brownie Troop!

Feb 8th - Meeting
February 13th - Mrs. Grossman's Sticker Factory. Drivers are Jen Allen, Kirsten and Melissa. We have 12 girls and 3 adults so we are at our tour maximum of 15. I will send out car assignments and meeting time/place later this week. I have everyone attending this outing, please let me know if I am mistaken and your daughter will not attend so we can fill her spot.
February 25th - Horseback Riding at WJ Cutting in Dixon. I have everyone attending except for Laura and Alex.
NO MEETING on Wednesday February 22nd. We may have an off-Wednesday optional meeting to prepare for our World Thinking Day booth. Please mark your calendars for the World Thinking Day event on Sunday, March 25th. We will have a booth on Denmark!
