End of Year Homework

Hi everyone,
In order to finish our insignia badges by the end of the year, I've assigned "homework" for the girls to complete.  All the items can be found in their Girl Guide for Girl Scouts. Most can be completed without much guidance. For those girls who brought their books to yesterday's meeting, I signed off on the badge items that they've completed.
Please purchase your Brownie a book as soon as possible if she does not have one.  It's an important part of the insignia earning and will be used next year as well.
Homework
1)  Review, read and sign the Internet Safety Pledge (See "Badges" section of the Guide, page 6b.)
2) Safety Pin - Review how smoke detectors work in your home and show the noise they make by testing one.  (See "Handbook" section of the Guide, page 38b.)
3)  Complete the Girl Scout Symbol Scramble within the "Celebrate Community" badge (See "Badges" section of the Guide, Celebrating Community, page 2b.
The girls came home with one or two badges yesterday depending on if they participated in the corresponding events.  If your daughter attended World Thinking Day, she received this badge:
This badge is considered insignia so it goes on the front of the vest.  The Picnic Day Parade patch goes on the back.
Information on the pool party and last meeting will be forthcoming.
Thanks,  Jen
